Temperatures were much more in line with normal than previous vintages. Combined with above-average wind and drought, all this has guaranteed harvests of a healthy and outstanding-quality.
Very little sorting was needed. The vegetation has always been ahead and the Ban des Vendanges was lifted on September 4.
Temperatures slightly cooler than normal in July and August allowed the development of good aromatic elements and beautiful colours. In terms of taste, we are situated in the line of vintages 2004, 2005 and 2006.
Intense colours, generosity and depth, fruity with spices and liquorice as a young vintage, solid and high-quality tannins with enough natural freshness.
Evolution offers deep garnet colour with golden-brown glances, a bouquet of full-blown and nuanced aromas on much candied fruits, refined leathery and woodsy notes. With slightly less natural freshness than in previous vintages, it has come to maturity and can be enjoyed on meats in sauces, game and matured cheeses.
