The name Cornas means “burnt earth”, a phrase that fully reflects its terroir marked by exceptional sunshine due to the south-south-east exposure of the vineyard. The latter consists of particularly steep terraces, supported by stone walls. The Cornas has always been the only resource of the village, it has kept its prestige since the 10th century: it has delighted the royal tables throughout its history.
This vineyard was threatened successively by phylloxera and by urbanization but it manages to protect itself from these insults and today offers us a wine of immense quality.
