The Gigondas appellation

Its vineyard is located exclusively in the commune of the same name, in the heart of the Vaucluse on the edge of the famous Dentelles de Montmirail. 

Regularly cited by Pliny the Elder in his Natural History, Gigondas was developed by the Romans who chose this hillside terroir to produce high-quality, complex and powerful wines.
