Producers of Chateauneuf du Pape and Côtes du Rhône

Château de la Gardine is a historic, family-owned estate, deeply rooted in Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

Here, wine is a matter of time, heritage, and daily dedication.

For three generations, the family has passionately crafted wines renowned for their faithful expression of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape terroir and their aging potential.

Wines built to last — but above all, to be shared.

A vineyard at the heart of the landscape

From the terrace of Château de la Gardine, the eye takes in the essentials. The vines surround the cellar, overlook the Rhône, and shape a landscape where the geography, geology, and history of the appellation can all be read.

Limestone, sand, rolled pebbles, red clay — the typical soils of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape cru follow one another and shape the identity of the wines.

In the distance, the Rhône draws the eye toward the Luberon and the Alpilles, while Avignon appears in the light and the breath of the Mistral.

At the heart of the Southern Rhône Valley, the vineyard benefits from a warm, dry Mediterranean climate, shaped by the steady Mistral. It ensures controlled yields, naturally protects the vines, and—with more than 2,800 hours of sunshine per year—allows the grapes to reach optimal ripeness.

The Brunel Family

Winegrowers in the Rhône Valley since 1670, the Brunel family settled in Châteauneuf-du-Pape in the mid-20th century.

They then brought this historic estate back to life and, over the decades, made it one of the benchmark properties of the appellation.

Four generations have lived — and still live — around the estate. Today, several members of the family work together, in close collaboration with their teams, in a spirit of continuity, independence, and responsibility.

Their decisions are guided by simple values: respect for the terroir, a commitment to quality, freedom of choice, and loyalty to an identity shaped over time.

Our philosophy

An iconic bottle

Since 1964, the wines of Château de la Gardine have been presented in an exclusive and instantly recognizable bottle.

Its design was inspired by an archaeological discovery beneath the 18th-century building: an ancient hand-blown glass bottle…

Over time, its unique shape has become one of the symbols of the estate.

Bold and unconventional, it has accompanied the rise of the wines of La Gardine.
