Vintage 2000

Inserted in a series of 4 excellent years, the white and red Chateauneuf du Pape vintage 2000 presented all the qualities of a wine of great guard on its youngest years.

The reds offered, in addition to intense aromas of fresh red and black berries, spicy and finely peppery notes as well as a very long finish, ideally balanced between a very nice freshness and dense but silky, supple and tight tannins.

The lively and fresh whites, with aromas of citrus, flowers and white fruits, had a nice touch of honey and precious wood.

The Châteauneuf-du-Pape white and red 2000 vintage are now at the peak of their maturity, as long as their storage conditions have been correct.

The red wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape vintage 2000 present a beautiful garnet-red color with golden reflections. The complex and expressive nose of red fruits and prune in brandy is underlined by aromas of undergrowth and weathered leather. The entry in mouth is surprisingly fresh and soft, the caressing tannins supporting beautiful notes of candied fruits and fruits in brandy, gamey aromas and fine spices.

The persistence remains fresh and long, sustaining the tasting for many minutes. It will accompany gently simmered dishes, with or without truffles, meat and vegetables cooked at low temperature with just the right amount of spices, game accompanied by fine wine sauces.

The white wines are now at a very interesting stage of their evolution, with honeyed roundness and finely intertwined aromas of citrus, candied exotic fruits, precious woods and fresh nuts. The persistence on the elegant freshness and the fresh and dry walnut calls the agreements with gastronomic dishes: poularde with cream and truffles, omelette with truffles..
