Early vegetation throughout the year, slowed down somewhat by a cold early April.
A normal spring in terms of rainfall and temperatures that was followed by an exceptionally hot summer. This heat wave was softened by a nice rain on July 31, which made it possible to withstand the drought and facilitated good ripening of the berries.
At the end of August, the ripeness and sanitary state of the grapes were close to perfection and the first Grenache Blanc and Syrah plots were harvested earlier than ever before, as early as August 29, although the harvest was scheduled for September 5.
The weather deteriorated in mid-September but the quantities produced that year were quite low: 30hl/ha on average. The grapes were almost all in on time.
The white wines are creamy and intense with a good aging potential. The later red wines are tasty and fruity. However, they have tannins that are both fine and dense, a frank dress and a harmonious and complex palate.
The Chateauneuf du Pape red and white vintage 1994 is classified in the category of great vintages in quality.
