Condrieu

Formerly known as the “White Wine of the Côte-Rôtie”, the Condrieu comes from the borders of the departments of Ardèche, Rhône and Loire, on the right bank of the Rhône, at the level of Vienna.

His vineyard, like that of the latter, is marked by extremely steep slopes which, at about 50 degrees, make the cultivation of the vines dangerous. Condrieu is the birthplace of the Viognier grape variety, which stands out as the only variety of this appellation.

This highly reputed vineyard was born in Roman times, it has more recently endured the torments of phylloxera and the two world wars, so that it was reduced to about ten hectares only in 1960. The 1980s gave it a great expansion and today it has a little more than 100 hectares.
