Cornas - Red
The Cornas appellation represents a hundred hectares that benefit an exceptional sunshine and particularly steep terraces supported by stone walls. Cornas wines are exclusively red and vinified from the Syrah grape variety.
Nose : Lots of intensity with blackfruit and spicy aromas. It also display floral notes of Violet. It can be aged developing aromas of leather and licorice
Palate : Strong tannins that help it to be aged very long time. Complex with a strong body, it shows all the richness of this one and only grape variety used : the Syrah
Advice from the sommelier : Best served between 16°C and 18°C
Terroir : The name Cornas means "burnt earth", a phrase that fully reflects its terroir marked by exceptional sunshine due to the south-south-eastern exposure of the vineyard. The soils are planted on particularly steep terraces, supported by stone walls.
Vinification : Destemed, placing in vats and grape crushing. Fermentation for 3 to 4 weeks, 12 months barrel aging.
Aging potential : 15 to 20 years
