The essence of the wine
This Vacqueyras is a generous, harmonious and elegant wine that expresses the character of the southern Côtes du Rhône with balance. It combines depth of fruit, roundness on the palate and silky tannins, in a style that is both indulgent and structured.
It is a refined, versatile wine, ideal for accompanying flavourful cuisine without being overly powerful. It can be enjoyed young for its fruitiness or aged for a few years in the cellar.
Tasting
Appearance: The wine shows a deep, rich color.
Aromatic profil: Expressive, combining red berry, violent and licorice aromas, with underlying notes of forest floor and white pepper.
Palate: Round and generous, beautifully balanced. The finish is long and lingering, carried by silky tannins that lend elegance and poise.
Sommelier's recommendation: Serve between 15 and 16°C
Perfect pairing: Provençal cuisine, roasted meats (game birds, venison, spring lamb, roast duck, stuffed duckling...) and seasonal dishes.
Terroir: Located in the southern Côtes du Rhône and derived from the Latin Vallea Quadreria, meaning “valley of stones”, the Vacqueyras appellation extends across the communes of Vacqueyras and Sarrians, on the left bank of the Ouvèze River, at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail.
The vineyard lies on broad terraces formed by the river, between 60 and 100 metres above sea level. The soils, composed of rounded pebbles, sandstone and flint mixed with limestone fragments, lend structure and finesse to the wines.
Winemaking: Temperature-controlled fermentation for 20 to 25 days, followed by ageing in tanks, in order to preserve the purity of the fruit and the wine’s natural balance.
Aging potential: 2 to 7 years
Enjoyable in its youth for its fruitiness and roundness, this Vacqueyras will develop gracefully over several years.
